Charity Drive

Charity Fair on TCSJ grounds! The carpark was so crowded! And there were MORE stalls behind the gardens -- forgot to take my camera there to take pics :( ...

Lee Ting & Michelle's class' stall! They sold chocolates, donuts (I bought one), other snacks and... KISSES! Hahaha so funny la! I didn't buy any, but towards the end of the day, Ting's classmate (my new friend.. and I have sadly forgotten her name .. ish.. ) used me as a rough piece of paper and started stamping free kisses on my arms. T_T Now they won't come off hahaha! I was a walking bulletin board for a good two hours today... oh well, all in the name of charity! Hahahahaha!!

This is the point where Rameera grabs the camera out of my hands to stop me taking pictures of her, and starts snapping up shots of me instead. :( I don't like the taste of my own medicine.

Back row -- Buford & Mary.
Mary gave me two pairs of earrings today! Her sis made them herself!! I wanted to pay for them, but she so nice larr... she said to take them as a present!~ Hehe gonna wear them so often lah -- sure wan! XD Thanks Mary!! Tell ur sis I said thank you!
Front row -- Jwu Wey, Chinn Pei & Li Shan.

Rameera, Jilly & Chinn Pei. Great people weih! :)

Meeraaaa baby! XD

Chiew Nee, H1's class rep -- I adore her! She's so spontaneous, funny & teaches me Math in class (she's the only classmate whose teaching is effective on me!) ... most of all, she smells really good all the time -- I like sitting with her especially when most of the class smells really bad (e.g: after break-time on a hot day), and then the wonderful-ness of her perfume will drown out every bad smell. Yay! :P

Seng Ming! Our very own H1 model ambassador -- literally! He is one of the finalists in the Taylor's Next Top Model competition, hahaha, farny guy lah he... his chest hair precedented his face on this blog!~

Cassandra! She is SO pretty -- it's a real pity that she pulled out of the Taylor's Next Top Model thing. Heyyyy I wonder who won? o_O Must remember to ask Seng Ming later!

Carmeny! She bought a canned drink from me! (Note: People, the Tesco Cola wasn't so bad whurt! I even drank a can of it myself!) Can't wait to hang out with her, De, Sara, Azrina & Cheryl tmrw. Hehe!

The best part of today was that I got to spend some real quality time with my best friend -- Tse Mun! Yayyy hehe she took me to this sofa restaurant (food we ordered wasn't so great, but the sofas were nice!) & we yakked for almost two hours! Haha!

I love french fries.

Winson & William -- they were my go-home-early superheroes today! Winson is one of my nicest bus buddies, and it turns out his older bro is none other than ex-English Society prez, William! He totally doesn't remember me -- hehe but nvm lah, he was so nice to give me & Nicholas a lift home!~ Also scared the shit out of us with the helicopter freak accident headlines. My heart went out to the victim's wife weih.... eurghh why do bad things have to happen to good people?

Nicholas! My walking-home buddy & book-carrier hahaha! He was the one who got the ride home for us -- yay!

The "List"

Hola!

In the mood for another boring academic update today! :P

Malaysian Studies presentation is officially over! I did an awfully dull, 5-minute speech entitled "Why War?" -- Jillian recorded it, haha, neat! The rest of my classmates had better performances up their sleeves - mostly singing (Jilly is incredibly talented!), but there was one dance & a computer-programme demonstration.

Economics Common Test 2 - over! I'm glad I could remember everything I studied (except one of the TPA's -- I left out exclusive dealing, eurgh)... but I can't be too sure if I gave what they wanted for the answer. Aih. Did my best la, will just learn from my mistakes! Lousiest part of exams is what happens right after -- you walk anywhere and you hear people discussing the answers... everything you just answered always sounds so wrong compared to other people's. Ish. Don't really like discussing answers after the exam! So scary!

Accounting Class Test 2 - reeked of rotten eggs! I thought I knew my ledgers, but I guess I was wrong! I have no idea how badly I've done - still waiting for the result.

And we've all received our Progress Reports (Report Cards)! To my delight, I got 3A's and 2B's -- no C's like I expected! The lecturers gave me really boring remarks -- I got two "A very able student with great potential"s, one "Keep up the good work", another "Satisfactory work" & for Math (my worst subject among the 5): "Has potential to achieve a better result". I think the remarks are multiple-choice sorta things, honestly! Haha!

Best part is when Man Yee saw my name on the TER 80+ list outside the SAM office, and then she told An Nie, and then An Nie called me to congratulate me -- and I was so blur, I was like "What list? What? Where?" -- then Man Yee told me it's this list where they rank you if you get TER 80 and above. So, this morning, I went to see the list for myself -- and I'm so ecstatic right now!

I know I didn't get TER 98 or anything like that (like the Ranking 1 guy, can't remember his name) -- but I'm still really happy that I'm doing better than I ever did for Form 4 & Form 5! I got a TER of 83, and am ranked 102. Hahaha it looks like such a ridiculously large number doesn't it? But the ranking hardly counts when dozens of others get TER 83 too -- and then it's sorted alphabetically, so 'P' goes way below. :P

There were hundreds of names on that list! But I had so much time, I even saw who else from my old school (SMKDJ) were there too -- and I came up with only 5 -- Shern Ren (rank 7, TER 95 - OMG! Haha congrats, mi amor!), Chu Jie & Lee Ting (both TER 86 -- that's brilliant!), Jian Hung (TER 84, hehe blardy smart guy lah he!) & me! Totally unexpected fifth addition to DJ's gloryyy... :D Hahah, no lah, I'm not saying DJ is better than other schools or anything -- it's obvious that a LOT of other schools had great students -- since only five out of HUNDREDS of names belonged to ex-DJians.

Currently addicted to Aqua's "Cartoon Heroes" song, hehe!

Cartoon Heroes

We are what we're supposed to be
Illusions of your fantasy
All dots and lines that speak and say
What we do is what you wish to do

We are the colour symphony
We do the things you wanna see
Frame by frame, to the extreme

Our friends are so unreasonable
They do the unpredictable
All dots lines that speak and say
What we do is what you wish to do

It's all an orchestra of strings
Doin' unbelievable things
Frame by frame, to the extreme
One by one, we're makin' it fun

We are the Cartoon Heroes - oh-oh-oh
We are the ones who're gonna last forever
We came out of a crazy mind - oh-oh-oh
And walked out on a piece of paper

Here comes Spiderman, arachnophobian
Welcome to the toon town party
Here comes Superman, from never-neverland
Welcome to the toon town party

We learned to run at speed of light
And to fall down from any height
It's true, but just remember that
What we do is what you just can't do

And all the worlds of craziness
A bunch of stars that's chasing us
Frame by frame, to the extreme
One by one, we're makin' it fun

We are the Cartoon Heroes - oh-oh-oh
We are the ones who're gonna last forever
We came out of a crazy mind - oh-oh-oh
And walked out on a piece of paper

Here comes Spiderman, arachnophobian
Welcome to the toon town party
Here comes Superman, from never-neverland
Welcome to the toon town party

You think we're so mysterious
Don't take us all too serious
Be original, and remember that
What we do is what you just can't do ...

What we do is what you just can't do
What we do is what you just can't do
What we do is what you just can't do
What we do is what you just can't do

We are the Cartoon Heroes - oh-oh-oh
We are the ones who're gonna last forever
We came out of a crazy mind - oh-oh-oh
And walked out on a piece of paper

There's still more to come
And everyone will be Welcomed at the Toon - Toon Town - Town Party!

Group Projects Suck

Tomorrow - Accounts Class Test 2. Tuesday - Econs Common Test 2. Tues/Wed/Thurs - M'sian Studies activity. All that stuff added up = Sunday night is time to relax a little bit!

Nothing better to do, every time I try to blog about being mad about my group project, my internet connection dies, so I take it as a not-so-subtle hint that I'm not supposed to blog about that today.

------------------

I just pulled out of my M'sian Studies group. Can't take it no more. I love talking to Ming on the phone about our "crisis"-es. And Buford is sleeping. So early. Ish.

Of Lollies & Farewells

Oh, the peace that comes with a weekend!

The following pics are from Nadia's farewell party.. hmm not posting up any pics of Nad out of respect to the not publicly displaying her head without headscarf thing.. :)

Me & Tse Mun .. pic is way too dark.. but oh well haha, if you turn up your brightness & contrast stuff... it's actually quite a nice picture! :D

Denise's new bracelet from Kuching!

Me & Denise - Denise without specs! Yay! Time to wear contact lenses!

Tse Mun said she would kill me if I posted up this picture on my blog, but I couldn't resist, I liked the concept of the bubble so much -- so if I don't blog for a while, you'll know what happened to me! Hehe!

One of my other best friends - Pei Lee! Known her since I was 11, she's the sweetest thing!

-----------------------------------

So, how did this week go? I think only 2 interesting things happened: Econs presentation (already blogged about this) & a surprise lollipop from mi amorrr Shern Ren! Heheeee I'm so thick, really, I should have guessed when he texted me on Tuesday & asked me which class I was in -- but the element of surprise was really neat!

Of course, it was REALLY EMBARASSING when the delivery people came barging in during Accounts lecture, and I didn't realise what was happening, except that everyone was calling out my name. I was doing the ledgers and getting more confused, see, and then I had to go and walk up to the door and while I was thinking "Uh-oh, Sha-Lene, what did you do now?" -- the delivery fellow gave me a lollipop. I was so blur. Then I saw who it was from, then it was like Hey! NIICE! AND it's part of this Charity Drive thing that's going on at college.

Thank you, mi amor! :D

---------------------------------------------------------

Besides that, ESL on Thursday was exhausting. Why, you ask? Because Mrs Banu asked me to write the WHOLE ISSUE ANALYSIS OUTLINE on the whiteboard! Imagine my shock when she said, "Has nobody done anything? Sha-Lene, write your outline on the whiteboard." I think I was up there for FORTY MINUTES, with my handwriting getting uglier and uglier by the moment. And while the rest of my friends (and Mrs Banu) were happily analyzing my handwriting ("Look at that, hahaHahah, she can't be a teacher next time" & "Oi Sha-Lene, why your handwriting getting smaller and smaller?")... I was hogging up class time. Felt so guilty.

Apparently, my team was the only team who actually DID the outline (Animal Experimentation) -- and I didn't even do anything, Li Shan did everything. Ming & Buford were reminiscing primary school days, Laura was trying to help Li Shan, Li Shan was doing all the work, and I was dunno doing what. Helping Li Shan & half-listening to Ming, I think.

Thursday's Moral Quiz sucked. Hong Ting is an expert cheater mann! Hahah! Really respect him for how skilled he is. I studied, but I found that I still couldn't answer half the questions there. Hmm... I think it was because I accidentally left out a couple of pages of reading! Ish.

Today, I went to Asia Cafe & chatted with An Nie over a plate of 'char koay teow'. Saw Mrs Banu & another lecturer there! Hehehee!! I find it so fascinating to see teachers out of school! I'm so not used to it! But I guess my classmates are hinting that they feel the same way whenever they see me outside college.. i.e."OH MY GAWD DID THE LIBRARY EXPLODE TODAY?" jokes.

-----------------------------------------------

Hi-tea at CampusCity on Thursday was fun! Didn't really feel spiritually enlightened this time, but got to say hi to some college mates that I don't usually see around campus.. catch up with them... food was good too.

Unfortunately, the guy who was speaking threw in a very lousy comment right before we could dig in -- "Well, as usual, ladies first -- but please, leave some for the guys! You know, girls nowadays arh.. *making gelojoh imitations*"... oh my goodness... I felt like swinging my two-tonne bag at him so that he'd be knocked unconscious. I haven't felt so incredibly annoyed at someone in so long; I really felt like hurting him.

Because of what he said, lots of my girl friends didn't want to eat after that. Well, not so much as they didn't want to eat -- they didn't want to take food, and ate off my plate instead. Did he even realise the effect that his snide comment would have on teenage girls? I wanted to change from sneakers into three-inch heels and crush his foot on purpose. Like, oh my goodness, I still feel so irritated when I think about it now... like eurghhh.. the next time I go to CampusCity and he extends his hand for me to shake, I am not going to take it! Assuming I remember his tarty little face!

The Half-Empty Glass

Wa, I haven't updated in almost a week! Must be a record for me .. XD .. I think it was the Econs presentation that had me on the brink of insanity -- it was a nightmare to prepare!

A whole week of researching, worrying, panicking & feverish discussions with Buford and Li Shan -- and for what? Five glorious minutes in front of a half-empty classroom with only a lecturer, your team-mates and another team, as your audience?

Sometimes all the hard work & nauseating effort students have to put in for projects & presentations seems so ... meaningless. Every time there is a project, presentation, common test or quiz, we have to work our butts off. And then, what happens? We get our marks. And they're not full marks or anything like that, so the more projects you do, the more marks you lose. Schoolwork can be so depressing - if you choose to look at it that way.

Hmm, well, enough of that nonsense, my economics presentation went fairly well. Mrs Goh had a very scrunched up expression on her face throughout everybody's presentations (including mine! *eek*), but then she said the magic words after I launched into my usual "With this, I thank you." --> "Very clear. Good." Wha wha wha wha! I was so happy, it meant the rubbish I was rambling actually formed into actual meaningful facts in my lecturer's brain. Yay. She didn't say anything after Ming, Rameera, Mary, Jet Xin, Hong Ting & Buford's presentations though -- or maybe I didn't catch it.

Hong Ting surprised me! He was REALLY loud and clear!! I couldn't wipe the smile that was plastered all over my face, he was so nice to watch -- such a change from his usual VERY soft voice! Haha, H1, you would have been stunned!

Among all of the other presentations I heard today (we only get to be audience for our team & another team that has their presentation in the same period), Buford's was the best! His was the only one that I really, actually understood. And he didn't prepare a word-for-word script.

I always admire people who can go onstage and speak without preparing word by word beforehand -- because I can't do that. I panic. I have to prepare everything. Every inflection in my voice, every nod, every hand gesture -- it comes naturally (after years of being drilled by teachers into public-speaking competitions), but I practise. A lot. Until I'm prepared. So -- what Buford can do, I cannot. ;)

And Ming handled my powerpoint beautifully!! Thank you, Ming! And I feel SO BAD because I was a blurcase on hers -- I thought I could handle it fine, but then for some f***ed-up reason, I clicked one slide and then went to the NEXT ONE almost immediately! I had to find the blardy pointer and reverse the slides. And then I was so blur with her script (her script that was in front of me was different from the one that she was saying! So I couldn't catch up! eeeK!) -- but then I pulled it off sloppily in the end. Not perfectly. It's like I can't do ANYTHING without practising first. :( I'm so sorry, Ming doll!

I'm still kind of worried about my team's presentation because I didn't reaaally understand Rameera's presentation (her script), but it's over now, so all I can do is hope that we did well. And Meera did check her answers with all the other Question 1 people in class... but still. It was all kinda different from what I would have answered if it were say, an exam question. In conclusion, either I am very wrong, or my team-mate is very wrong. Which means, either way, I lose points. Crap.

What else is new? Moral Quiz 2 tomorrow. Haven't studied a thing yet. Going to have to cram useless Moral gunk into my head before I go to sleep tonight. Then, do my ESL Presentation Draft. Before that, I have to complete my Specific Outline. But before doing even that, I have to do my Research Proposal and my General Outline. Why? Because I've got it ALL WRONG.

Then, have to do BM Investigative Study. Same process. Life is so sweet.

WooooohOooO!!

I managed 8 A's!! So happy!

Hahaha 7 A1's .. for English (SPM & GCE O-Levels), BM, EST, Moral, Math, Add Math, History... 1 A2 -- you won't believe what it's for : BIO!! WOW! I've never even gotten higher than a 45 in Biology for school exams! Yesterday, it was on the news that only 13% of SPM Biology candidates got A for Bio, and my mum was like, "Oh my goodness, Sha-Lene, you're one of the 13%! HAHAHAHA".. damn loud lar, my mum laugh! She thought I was going to get C's for all my 3 sciences! HAhahaha! Hmm.. and I got 2 B3's.. for Chem and Physics.. bleargh.. haha, quite disappointed with Chemistry result (worked so hard for it, compared to my effort put in for Physics and Bio)...

Haha, well, anyway, it's finally OVER! Am looking forward to reaping the rewards now.. RM1000 from Taylor's College, a bit of money from Kasturi, honour of going to SMKDJ's Majlis Anugerah Cemerlang... and getting to visit Mr Goey with Tse Mun, because we both got A's for BM! YAY! Haha!

I'm also really happy that my best friends did really well too... Tse Mun got 8A's.. Denise got 8A's... Carmen got 10A's (or was it 9 or 11? hmm.. can't remember -- too many A's! Haha!)... My World vs Underworld

Haha today's outing was really special to me -- the first time that I went out with BOTH my bestest friends in the whole wide world!

Considering that we're all really stressed up about Monday (D-Day!!), I decided to watch a horror movie to hopefully scare myself so badly that I won't think about anything else other than the horror-ness of the show.. but Underworld 2 was (shockingly) so boring for me -- I swear I could have closed my eyes and fallen asleep as the werewolves and Lycans and other hybrids were stabbing and biting at each other! Maybe I'm just not reaaally into action movies haha...

Went for lunch at Chilli's.. watched Underworld 2 (but the two lead actors were REALLY hot - the girl & the guy!) .. went shopping .. bought new shoes (old ones broke today, 20 minutes after stepping into 1U hahah!)... bottom line: I LOVE MY BEST FRIENDS!

Hugs and kisses to Tse Mun & Denise!

Loud T-Shirts (hehe)

There isn't a better way to end the 1st-half of the 1st college semester than to parade around college in a loud t-shirt that says "I AM SEXUALLY EDUCATED" -- in simplistic hues of abyss black & bright yellow!

Hahaha and that's exactly what I'm doing!

As part of a Sex Education campaign that's been going around the Subang Jaya campus (TC Petaling Jaya, March 13th - Talk on Sex), yesterday the SexEdu people were selling T-shirts, car tags, caps & giving away free balloons (hehe! Moral class was a nightmare for our Moral lecturer because of those balloons!!).. and impulsively, me & Rameera decided to buy the shirts!

Now that I really think about it, we were totally ripped off! RM25 for a plain black T-shirt that has nothing on it, except a bright yellow stop sign that says "I am SEXUALLY educated" on the front. Hmm but it's funny larr. Hehe. But very shy lor, to walk around - people kept reading my shirt -- which is the whole point actually, but hehe... it's even more of an attention-grabber than fake blue eyes. *ROTFL*

And... SPM Results out this Monday! For SMKDJ people, I heard that our school is hosting a music exam of some sort, so we can't go in to take our results until 12pm.. hmm dunno how true that is? Good luck everyone!

I Went "Clubbing"!

- ONLY MY FRIENDS CAN READ THIS ENTRY -

JOKE OF THE CLASS TODAY:
(Simulated Conversation)

"Hey, guess what! I went clubbing during break!"
"WOW, REALLY?? WHERE?"
"Asia Club!!"
"OH my gawwwd, Asia Club is not counted larr!! HAHAHAH u arrr.."

One of my favourite classmates - Tasha!!

The all-time best SAM Math lecturer in the whole wide world - Sean!

Blue eyes weihhh... hahahh... Ming took this pic with Tasha's phone.. ooO.

________________________________________________

No, the library didn't explode today! HAHAHA!

I thought I'd leave campus at least once before March hols, so I decided to follow my classmates to Asia Cafe today! XD I've only been there once before today -- and I ate char koay teow, as usual. I'm such a creature of habit, it's like I've got fixed food for fixed places.

For instance: Asia Cafe - char koay teow, SS2 Murni - roti hawaii, Jelutong - roti canai/tosai, KFC - Zinger Burger & Cheesy wedges, ..... whoopsie doodle, did I accidentally make this blog post about food now? Haha!

So -- I went to Asia Cafe, then, after I finished my food, squeezed every last drop out of the "milo ais" I bought, & was done with ogling the "nyonya kueh" stall opposite where I was sitting -- Keith, Seng Ming & Hong Ting got up to go "upstairs". And I was like (overenthusiastic & hyperactive as usual haha) "What's 'upstairs'?"

And Keith said, "Come and follow us!"

Dum dum dum dum! Hahaha! Then Laura said "You want to go upstairs ah? Come lah, I bring you upstairs!" And Li Shan came along - and we all went "upstairs".

Then, I followed my classmates up several flights of stairs. And the smell of cigarette smoke was overwhelming, and Keith said "This is why we call this the "Devil's Place"!!". And we passed by a sign saying "Do not enter if you are below 18 years of age" - and I said, "Hey, I can't go larr, I'm not eighteen yet!" -- and everyone said, "Neither are we! HAHAH!"... XD ... and finally, we pushed the door open...

And I walked into Asia Club.

Wha wha wha! Snooker tables (they like to call it "pool" though. hmm haha okayy...) & little-plastic-men-on-sticks tables filled the place. Very spacious, fantastically well air-conditioned place, with cigarette smoke taking up 70% of the air composition -- and wall-to-wall carpeting! I just love places with wall-to-wall carpeting! This is why lecture theaters rock! Hehe!

I didn't play anything, so I just watched, wide-eyed (hehe) as they played pool & stick-football. Pool was kinda boring to watch (hehe sorry babes!) because it just involved taking a stick and hitting balls... whereas the stick-football one was pretty exciting! Maybe because it was speedier. Anyway, I enjoyed myself watching Keith & Buford play -- Buford won, although he kept saying he sucked at it, hahaaha.

It was so cute watching Li Shan & Laura play pool... didn't really get to watch the Jilly vs Mel or the Mary vs Jet Xin games though... hmm but Seng Ming vs Chiew Nee was pretty awesome too! Chiew Nee is good! She kicks arse! Hahaha!

Jilly's worried now, that I'm going to get addicted to the place -- because when Kang Yun was asking me to go play pool with her after college, Jilly was like, "Don't get her influenced ....".. hahah... so farney larr.. when I joined them for lunch also, everyone was laughing & all my friends were like "OH MY GAWD did the library close down today?" & "WHAT!! SHA-LENE YOU'RE OUT OF COLLEGE!!"... hmm haha...

______________________________________________

It was such a cool experience anyway! Haha! I went back to the good old library after college today to get some work done, but then I realised -- oh sheeet!

I totally forgot about the appointment I made with Queensland University of Technology reps at 11am today! I was supposed to see them during my break-time! But noooo, I went out hahah... so.. I had to run to Taylor's Placement Centre to apologise profusely... but anyway, *phew* there was no damage done.. it wasn't compulsory to see them or anything.

It's been so long since I TOTALLY forgot about an urgent meeting... aihh.. hmm I'd better start buckling down & getting more serious. Like tomorrow, I have to remember to go to StudyLink and ask who to forward the address to when Taylor's sends them a letter -- they're sponsoring for Winanga-Li mar.. and I have to see Mrs Quek first thing Friday morning to tell her! I'd better not forget this one now! Haha! Maybe I should ask Ming Yuen to remind me... hmm... XD...

So what're my tasks for tomorrow? See StudyLink people, see Mrs Quek. Break time? Hmm... maybe I'll go to the library and get some more things printed (the black ink in my printer is still on strike! T_T)... then head to CampusCity after college. Hehe sounds like a complete day!

Note-to-self: Practise on posting from the journals to the ledgers! A big thank you to Keith for teaching me Accounts today! Hehe! ;P

TGILD!

For any of you out there who've got AXN permanently screening on your television sets:

TGILD!

Hahaha! When I heard the voiceover exclaiming that on tv, I couldn't help but laugh. Do you get the joke? "Thank God It's LOST Day!" -- some sort of spinoff joke derived from my favourite restaurant - TGIF's - Thank God It's Friday's! *ROTFLMBBO*

I haven't been watching AXN for simply ages since Wah Lai Toi started playing reruns of "War and Beauty"... funny thing about college is that, you kinda forget that TVs exist...... I KNOW! How weird! The computer basically takes over your life! XD On the computer, you can do everything -- your work (research, projects) & chatting. -_- Yeah.. I just realised I just flat-out said that "everything" to me, means work & chatting. What an exciting life I lead... hooohooo. It's not that I even chat that much ... ok actually I do, but only with a few people. The demand for messenger services are inelastic because there is habit-forming involved. Econs econs econs!

Speaking of economics, we got back our projects today. OMG it stinked of smelly socks! Not literally, of course -- but the marks we got really, really reeked. My group only got 36/50 -- which totally pulled down my score for 1st term! Now I only just scraped an A, with 83%. Arghh.. highest score in class for the project was only 37! Buford's group & Seng Ming's group. So low right! Most people only got about 20-something. T_T And I thought internal assessment was supposed to pull our grades up? Hmmm... oh well, must work harder next time!

OHHH and guess what! My new class mentor is... *drumroll*... MR TONG!

HAHAHAHAHHA! I can't explain exactly why I find this so amusing, but I guess it's because I'm really pleased with it! I really like Mr Tong, not because his personality was so stunning that it made me look up to him immediately (but his personality is quite ok also, very funny & relaxed lecturer! XD), but because he's 98% like my old BM tuition teacher (Mr Goey from Jayadiri) -- so nice larr.. hahah... we're all gonna miss Sean though! T_T

Ok I'm currently just compiling Accounts notes in the Web today (library is crammed full of last-minute workdoers hahahaha), and it's 10 minutes to bus time. Bought brownies today for Mum. Hehe. Hope she doesn't think I wasted the money. Nice brownies ok! The ones that the guy sells in the cafeteria. Why are chocolate cakes called brownies nowadays?

Will try to post pics of Sean from today! He came in a T-shirt & jeans -- everyone mistook him for one of us hahaha...

*Afternote due to boredom:
Hey Carmen's right beside me now!
Carmen says, "I'm tired.. Denise likes mashed potatoes."
"What if her stalker reads this and buys her tonnes of mashed potatoes?"
"Are you going to write that? Hahahah.."

YAY! Passed!!

Finally opened one of the forwards rotting away in my hotmail inbox, and was really moved by this particular piece. We've all prolly read it a jillian times, but nothing wrong with a reminder every now and then yeah? ;P

One day. . .
When you were 8 years old, your dad handed you an ice cream.
You thanked him by dripping it all over your lap.

When you were 9 years old, he paid for piano lessons.
You thanked him by never even bothering to practice.

When you were 10 years old, he drove you all day,
from soccer to gymnastic to one birthday party after another.
You thanked him by jumping out of the car and never looking back.

When you were 11 years old, he took you and your friends to the movies.
You thanked him by asking to sit in a different row.

When you were 12 years old, he warned you not to watch certain TV shows.
You thanked him by waiting until he left the house.

When you were 13, he suggested a haircut that was becoming.
You thanked him by telling him he had no taste.

When you were 14, he paid for a month away at summer camp.
You thanked him by forgetting to write a single letter.

When you were 15, he came home from work, looking for a hug.
You thanked him by having your bedroom door locked.

When you were 16, he taught you how to drive his car.
You thanked him by taking it every chance you could.

When you were 17, he was expecting an important call from his boss.
You thanked him by being on the phone all night.

When you were 18, he cried at your high school graduation.
You thanked him by staying out partying until dawn.

When you were 19, he paid for your college tuition,
drove you to campus carried your bags.
You thanked him by saying good-bye outside the dorm so you
wouldn't be embarrassed in front of your friends.

When you were 25, he helped to pay for your wedding,
and he cried and told you how deeply he loved you.
You thanked him by moving halfway across the country.

When you were 50, he fell ill and needed you to take care of him.
You thanked him by reading about the burden parents become to their children.

And then, one day...
he quietly died.
And everything you never did
came crashing down like thunder on your heart.

HELLO weekend!

*sighs happily*

Friday. Thank God it's Friday! *ROTFL* TGIF!

Okay, a dose of lameness is probably not the best way to start the weekend. Actually, the weekend hasn't actually started yet, but for me - this is the first day when there's no work to be handed up tomorrow. Yay. I love Fridays and Saturdays!

Hahaha -- officially 2.5 hours to the BBQ that I won't be going for. Buu.. T_T ...

But hey! Got back my Accounts Class Test results today -- haha been waiting for this for a week, want to see if I've improved from my CT1. Yayyy ... I got 20.5 over 25 -- highest in class! I tied with Ee Leing (it's an honour to tie with the top Math & Accts student ok!! XD), and Buford (who was the top scorer in class for CT1 with a 16) got 20. He tied with Seng Ming. Wha wha wha. Talk about a close race to the finish line~

However, the report card marks were a bit of a pain in the arse -- I got a B-something, with only 76%. Buford got 82% but apparently that doesn't turn into an A either. What larrr, why is it so difficult to get A's in college??

Hmm what else happened today? HO yeah -- Charity Drive brainstorming today. So farney! I was doing Accounts homework at the time, while unsuccessfully trying to drown out my class noise by plugging my music-player thingy into my ears. JOSH GROBAN's operatic music wasn't loud enough to drown out the noise hahah!! In fact, my classmates were SO noisy, until a teacher from next door came in and scolded us. WoOt! And Sean was in the class summore -- guess he had to pick up his face from the floor after that... XD...

Had two important meetings today -- a 15-minute one with reps from Queensland Uni (sent in my application already, wheee~) & a 10-minute one with Mrs Quek & my sub-editor, Chow Ming Yuen from S9! Or was it S7? Errr haha I'll check later -- I know he's doing SAM Engineering la.

I wonder what happened to the old days when meetings lasted for hours? Haha! It's a pity how we don't learn time inflation in economics.. hmm... by the way, another interesting decision: I had to put 2 course choices.. and I was at a loss after writing down "Bachelor of Laws".. so I called mum up & we decided to put a dual degree: "Bachelor of Economics/Laws" as my 2nd choice.

Besides that, TCSJ is having this funny competition -- Taylor's Next Top Model! Darn farney! I'm trying to persuade Rameera to join -- she's a total hottie, what with the facial features & the poise & the classiness. She doesn't think she's good enough though -- like, woOt! Haha! Will update more on that!~

In the college library now, had an hour to kill before the bus arrived.. now it's 10 minutes to 2pm, so I'll be off now! Toodles, lovely bunnies! ;)

Things We Do During LAN

LAN classes... well, Moral at least (Mr Tong makes M'sian Studies lectures really interesting!)...

(picture to be posted up soon)

-----------------------------------------

Malay is like, my new favourite subject now! Haha! Mr Tong gave me a 14.5 over 15 for my oral presentation for Pindah -- niiiice! And I got a 32/35 for my report-writing exam, which is way better than I expected! XD So, my internal assesment so far is 4.57 over 5. And my score for my report card is 93%! Neat! That's an A18!

On the other side of the world from Malay, Math is total crap! I only got 63% for my report card -- 28/45 for CT1 & 19/30 for Quiz... the quiz wasn't so bad actually, considering I had a lot of help learning how to use the calculator ... CT1 was crap though, I could have done a lot better. :(

So, I got a C13 for Math -- the grades for SAM are really weird, they go from A20 (max), A19, A18, A17, B16,... -- but I'm quite thankful I passed (D10 upwards is a pass), because more than 1/3 of my class failed! The top scorer for Math is Ee Leing, followed by Chiew Nee.. Sean said that 1 person got A, 5 people got B, 8 people got C. The total number of students in my class is 33. You do the math, I'm tired of it! Haha!

Exam Fever

You know how people always fall sick during exams?

Well, I fall sick right after - when everyone else is celebrating & healthier than ever! Haha!

So. I think I kinda put myself under a lot of pressure yesterday, fearing the worst for my ESL common test (5-paragraph generic essay) & BM oral presentation for "Pindah" (the novel we've been analyzing in class this term). Henceforth, I am now having a fever. Boooo!

Anyway, the ESL CT was all right -- better than I expected, but not as great as I had hoped. I managed to keep my cool & stay relatively calm during the exam (I think Sean was referring to me when he was saying how some girls do fine in class and then, once they walk into the exam hall, the words "EXAM EXAM EXAM" keep ringing in their minds!)... I mapped out three main points for the topic I chose to write on: The Positive Impacts of Studying Abroad -- independence, exposure to foreign cultures, & initiative -- in more elaborate words. But my third point was pretty vague (couldn't really think of a 3rd point larr) and my conclusion was a li'l screwed up because I unknowingly put points into it. Hehe. XD

My BM oral presentation was definitely the corners of today's smile! :D I didn't even really memorize it - even forgot my lines halfway, but I don't think Mr Tong noticed me lurching forward halfway to stare at my original script (I only wrote the beginning of every sentence on to my cue card). Haha but it was great! Very fun -- despite my cold fingers & trembling hands!

You see, owing to my permanent loss of proper volume control, my opening sentence shocked half the class and made everyone start listening - LOL! I could see Li Shan & Laura jump, for once distracted from the music clandestinely blasting into their ears from someone's MP3 player. Hong Ting and his friends at the back listened to my whole speech while smiling - haha that helped boost my morale yo! Thank you! At least I got everyone's attention. ;)

I could see Mr Tong smiling too! That was like, the most awesome part -- he usually just looks at his shoes or a nearby doorknob when someone is presenting -- XD. Hahaha -- Jillian, Mel, Chinn Pei, etc all started whooping and clapping. After my speech, Buford was like "Sha-Lene, if you and Ahnaf joined the public-speaking competition, and Ahnaf got first place, what did YOU get?" .. and I was like, grinning, "Third". Buford: "No wonderr..".. And Alison said "You arr.. really like public-speaker larr you! Haha!"-- and Ming, well, Ming is Ming haha so she mimicked me in an exaggerated way. Hehe. And Natasha said she would award me full marks! Loveya Tasha!!

Ok larr, to deflate my head a little bit (Denise would make this part compulsory, hehe!), I can explain -- I just spoke like how I would speak in a public-speaking competition, but I really am grateful for the support that my classmates & friends gave me! Especially Carmen ok, for practising with me on the bus! *mwah* If you think I spoke quite well, it's only because I have had a lot of practice doing it.. like emceeing during assembly & joining competitions.. so.. haha.. thank you for the compliments, H1 mates!!

But hey.. I welcome constructive criticism too, ok!

For instance, when I came down from the stage during the MPPJ competition, Miss Magdalen told me "You sounded like you hadn't had breakfast".. and you would think, ouchhh... but no worr, after weeks of being under her training style, I was just like, "Really arr? Okay I will do better next time! Let's hope Kevin still gives DJ a shot at winning!" Or maybe I am just thick-skinned lar. Haha!

Hmm on other news, Sean came back into class today! Haha! He's staying until the 10th of March now. My classmates also went a little off their rockers during Math, hehe! And I sat in front of Hong Ting, and his superfunny laugh kept making me laugh all through the lesson! Luckily, I learnt velocity & its annoying companions in Add Math last time, so it should be ok even though I only paid 70% concentration.. hahaha at times like this, I feel sorry for Shern Ren because all these minor drawbacks in class are going to come back to haunt us when he's tutoring me. *ROTFL!*
