Highlight of Hyde Park
Hola mi amor(s)!
I know I just spoiled the whole beauty of the "hola mi amor" phrase by adding "(s)", but I really couldn't think of any other way to turn it plural... pluralise it if I may start inventing my own bits of English... hahah...
Back to proper blogging -- the most fascinating aspect of London wasn't the difference between British teenagers and Malaysian ones, but to me, it actually was... *drumroll*... London's famous Hyde Park: Speaker's Corner!
This guy made the coolest signs (very controversial ones too, haha) but after Vanessa asked him a few questions about the point he was trying to get across, he gave rather unclear answers, so I still don't understand what he was trying to speak his mind about... aih... but very cool signs, nonetheless! Very brave, yeah?
This was one of my favourite speakers, although I didn't understand a word he was saying. He was very gentle, singing songs in a foreign tongue... really moved me, strangely enough ... although I really didn't really hear a single word properly... just the fact that he stood there, in the blazing sun, oblivious to passers-by -- standing there for what ever it was that he believed in.
These two following pictures feature the two most popular speakers on the Sunday morning that I was there. Some other listeners said that the Muslim man was an excellent speaker, because he spoke of peace and .... ok I forgot what he was talking about ... but anyway, the cowboy was really cool too, because he even came dressed in a cowboy costume! At first, the two of them were speaking separately, but for some reason, after a while the cowboy moved his ladder toward the Muslim man and the duo started a debate (can you see the timekeeper between them? haha!)... it was awesome!
The best part of my visit to Speaker's Corner is that Vanessa started a little debate with one of the speakers (he was talking about religion, and that we only realise the truth or summat after we are reborn... something along those lines)... it was so COOL! And waiit -- the most memorable part is when I got somehow involved in their debate, because the speaker was saying: "Your friend, the girl standing beside you -- is she Roman-Catholic too?"... and I know people always question my being a free-thinker (I believe in God, and am fascinated by every religion -- but I don't follow any particular religion). It was amazing, to have everyone argue and debate like that. *grins broadly*
*Note: Streamyx disconnected me for almost an hour! Eeesh.
