Seasons In The Sun & Campus City #2

Part #1: Seasons In The Sun

We had joy, we had fun, we had seasons in the sun;
But the wine, and the trees, and the seasons are all gone...
-lyrics not guaranteed to be accurate-

TODAY'S POST DEDICATED TO CHUA SUE-MAE! :)

(*Edit: Yay! Can put colour back into entries now, Sue-Mae taught me how to fix the html glitch on my blogger dashboard :))

Aih. I feel so sad ya, because Sue-Mae's leaving tomorrow night...

Tysern threw a farewell party for Sue-Mae, Yi Chian & Rachel Koh tonight... Chilli's for dinner... it was quite fun lah, because Ming was there and we kept talking about H1 and she was telling the whole gang about what I am like in school ... and then right, HAHAHA, NOBODY believed her when she said I am so quiet in class (because I try to pay attention hehe!) - darn funny lah.. Azrina, Sara, etc were all going "REALLY?? SHA-LENE WOR..." ... then Ming added "Then once class ends, wah!!!!" and then Denise started talking about "Sha-Lene UNLEASHED" ahahahah my friends arhhh -- I also dunno whether to be insulted or amused.. in the end, I chose to stick another nacho in my mouth and laugh la. Hahah.

Then Mingie started telling Denise they all about how I am when I go on to the bus -- she says that at 7am, the bus is so quiet because everybody's so sleepy, and then suddenly you can hear someone laughing all the way up the bus, going "hahahahah" at some joke with her friends -- and that someone is always.. guess who.. SHA-LENE. Hahahahaha!

*Post up pics soon, transferring files from Mae's cam & Ty's cam. ;P

Part #2: Campus City #2

After our last class today, Rameera & An Nie accompanied me to my 2nd Campus City meeting. This time, the talk was interestingly entitled, "When Ah Beng Met Mei Wah" - a Malaysian version of 'When Harry Met Sally' - but I only managed to listen to the first 5 minutes of the pastress' (such a word? hehe) speech. *sniffs* I was kinda bummed that I had to leave as the talk had only just begun (they always sing first, and singing - as nice as it is - takes up most of the allotted time). And the speaker today was really good! Aiyer.. but this is out of my control la, I will never be able to listen to any whole speech at Campus City throughout the whole year... I will just end up going there every Thursday hoping against hope that the talk starts earlier than usual, but nooOooo .. bus time clashes.

Maybe I'll create a mindset that I go there for the singing instead of the speech. :P I really, really love gospel music - the melody is always pleasant, and the pitches are usually always easy to reach. So, almost anyone can sing them :) -- thing is, I don't know the songs they sing at Campus City, so I just learn as I go along. Something new every week besides studies la, haha. I also love listening to the music when some of the audience/singers start speaking in tongues, or praying (it sounds really nice, like gentle whispering echoing everywhere!).

Then, when 4pm came, I needed to get up and leave (this is the part I hate doing!) and I was hoping Meera or An Nie would stay (so that they could tell me about the talk tomorrow!~) but BOTH of them got up when I did! Nooooo hahaha now I have to bug mi amor Shern Ren about what the pastress (is there even such a word? haha got it from Ally's blog la, hopefully she wasn't just making stuff up la, haha!) was talking about... curious la. Want to hear stories from other people's POV la. :( Crap time clashes!

Part #3: 3-hour Break

In conjunction with the CNY celebrations, there was a lion dance in college today. RM5 for tickets, I think -- but I didn't go! I didn't even think about it (I prolly would have gone if I had sat down and thought about it, hehe), because I felt I could use the 3-hour break (special time-table today because of lion dance) to get a lot of other work done. And guess what, I actually did! I loaded my arms full with dusty, torn library books for my ESL investigative study research -- and sat in a study-cubicle, reading and reading through the annoying itchy-fying books/journals for anything that was relevant to my research topic.

Then, I photocopied the pages I needed then and there (thanks to Lee Tingie for telling me to photocopy in the library instead of borrowing them and doing it outside, hehe! Psst: see, I mentioned you this time, Ting!! haha!) -- I think I've even somehow made friends with the photocopier operator -- I didn't have small change, so he told me to just take the papers first and pay him later, when I have the change. LOL!! Any student could have taken that opportunity to take the papers, run, and never pay back -- but noo, my conscience wouldn't let me live with it, haha. I paid back already la. ;P I think I am the photocopier's most frequent user of the day, haha! I even picked a study-cubicle literally a stone's throw away from the photocopiers for convenience purposes!

Did a number of annotated bibliographies, photocopied half a dozen sources... not bad la, for a day's work. Haha. I've stretched out my max on borrowing books from the library too -- better get the reading done this weekend, haha... a lot of projects and tests la... but I felt quite proud of the sacrifice I made today, by not going shopping with the rest of my classmates at Sunway Pyramid or going down to the MPH to watch the lion dance... I feel that I would have enjoyed both activities immensely, but I chose to do the most boring task instead. :) I'm becoming an adult! Whee~~

On another update -- been jumping off the bus nearer to my housing area instead of reaching the bus stop first (shortcuts matter the world to college students man! ahaha!). The first time, Adrian Yam (people always go "huh? who?" when I say this name, so for future info -- he used to be known as Kok Hing, haha) showed me the 3-minute shortcut. But then, now I'm walking and yakking back with good ol' Nicholas every day, and it's a 1.5-minute route. Yay, yay. He's darn funny lah -- maybe because we've known each other since Form 1! In college, you learn to appreciate your old friends sooo much more! :)

*speaking in annoying code so as to not disclose my place of residence, hehe.
